On 15 February 2025, SGI New Zealand (SGINZ), in collaboration with Home for Humanity, Aotearoa Lawyers for Peace, the Peace Foundation, World Future Council and the United Nations Association of New Zealand (Te Roopu Whakakotahi Whenua o Aotearoa), co-organized the Peace Heritage Walk in Wellington. The Peace Heritage Walk is a community-based initiative that highlights symbolic sites, monuments and sculptures commemorating peace and peacemakers in Wellington's peace history. Originally launched and coordinated by the Peace Foundation, the Peace Heritage Walk has been under the stewardship of SGINZ since July 2012.

During the event, participants walked from the Mahatma Gandhi statue to the Wellington Botanic Garden, visiting key peace heritage sites including Wai-Titi Landing (the Māori posts in front of the New Zealand Parliament), the Hiroshima Stone (a remnant of the Hiroshima City Hall destroyed in 1945) and the Wellington Peace Flame (a memorial presented by Hiroshima City that was originally lit from the fires from the atomic bomb). Celia Wade‑Brown, former Mayor of Wellington, also joined the walk. The event concluded with a lunch and discussion in the Botanic Garden where participants discussed examples of policies, initiatives and leadership efforts that are helping safeguard and promote peace globally.
