On 16 November 2025, in partnership with the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, members of SGI-Dominican Republic (SGI-DR) and their friends conducted a tree-planting event in Guaigüí, in La Vega Province in the north-central region of the country. A total of 65 people took part, planting approximately 1,000 saplings. This marks the 18th year members of SGI-DR have conducted such tree-planting initiatives.

The organization has been engaged in this activity since 1998 when the country was suffering serious damage to water resources and forests due to the effects of Hurricane Georges. The youth of SGI-DR in particular are determined to continue this tradition to help combat the impact of climate change and related disasters.
