SGI actively participated in the forty-first session of the Human Rights Council (HRC) from 24 June to 12 July 2019. On 4 July, Elisa Gazzotti of SGI was invited by the Pacific Rim Institute for Development Education to join a panel titled “Development Education: Case Studies from Around the World” as Co-chair of the NGO Working Group on Human Rights Education and Learning (NGO WG on HREL).
On this occasion, Gazzotti gave a presentation on human rights education and youth, introducing the “Transforming Lives: The Power of Human Rights Education” website. This resource, she emphasized, is particularly geared to reach young people, in the hopes that they can realize their rights based on what they learn and promote a better future and environment in their respective communities.
