Global Call for the Universal Recognition of the Human Right to a Healthy Environment
SGI is part of the Global Call endorsed by more than 1,100 civil society organizations, local communities, Indigenous Peoples and youth groups. The right to a clean, healthy and sustainable environment was recognized by the UN Human Rights Council in its Resolution 48/13 in October 2021.

Call for Establishing a New Special Rapporteur on Human Rights and Climate Change
As part of the Geneva Interfaith Forum on Climate Change, Environment and Human Rights (GIF) and the Geneva Climate Change Consultation Group (GeCCco), SGI has called for and welcomed in October 2021 the establishment of a new Special Rapporteur on human rights and climate change.
