On the occasion of the entry into force of the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) on 22 January 2021, SGI produced two educational tools to inform the public about the significance of this milestone. The treaty was adopted in July 2017 at the United Nations Headquarters. It is the first international law that comprehensively prohibits all activities related to nuclear weapons.

SGI produced a digital tool for visual storytelling in cooperation with the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), to provide a brief introduction to the treaty and its significance. You can also download the slides in English and Japanese.

In addition, SGI created a handbook about the entry into force of the Treaty. It briefly explains about what the treaty is about, how it was adopted, and what it envisions.
